Newbie with New 2022 Can Am Commander XT 1000R

My wife and I just bought a Can Am Commander XT 1000R and are looking to start going on trail rides.  We live in High Point, NC, but are going to be building a home on our lane in northern Rockingham County.  We hope to have that house completed by the summer.  In the mean time, we are looking to find groups to ride with.

Hello Brian, you started on the forum at a bad time for activity. Several rides out west are going on and lots of people went or know everyone is gone and not checking the forum as much.

I started riding with the group like this. The meeting when they start again are a great start.

Then there are maybe 20 people that ride regularly out of Hilltop Escape WV, then others join lots of weekends. We have campers or rent places there and close by to stay. I would say normally there is someone riding out of Hilltop every other weekend, unless it's really frozen or over 90. I just got a 22 Cam Am x3 so I have been going every other weekend. I will be up next weekend the 8th riding.
Check the 2022 Day or Weekend rides tab and see when people are going then try and get a place. Let the forum know your coming and we will come meet you and ride.
That is really the best way to go riding for the weekend. Look forward to meeting you both.

Hey Brian! Like Mike says ,there is someone riding WV almost every weekend. I will be there this weekend to work on my camper. Probably not riding.
We try to post on this forum whenever a weekend ride is on.
Post up when you can ride and we can meet up.

Thanks.  I had seen multiple references to "hilltop" when I was looking through previous posts.  The only thing I found was reference to a horse trail in the Dupont State Recreational Forest.  I was thinking that probably isn't it.  LOL

Thank you.  I'm new to ATVs/SXSs, but not new to driving off road.  I have been on several trails in Colorado, Utah, and Arizona in pickup trucks (a Ram 2500 diesel and a Ram Power Wagon).  I may have my Commander by the 8th, but it may be the following weekend.  I'm guessing that my first ride will either be a day trip to the Uwharrie because its close by home (High Point) or with one of the group rides from this forum.  I look forward to meeting you all and hope we can keep up.
