Just curious any ride reports? Who made the trip? What trails? Any problems? Did you get in heavy rain?

It rained, then rained some more. Then it rained even more. Out of four days at Matewan, we rode only two days because it rained so much. The Buffalo Mountain trail had yellow tape across it by the time we left. When we arrived back at Hilltop, guess what. It rained. We rode anyway after it let up a bit. Wiley and Mike Moore were on GMRS channel 16 Saturday morning. We joined up. Wiley took us on some gnarly trails south of Gary, WV. SxS was cleaner than when we left because of all the ponds that used to be puddles. No dust whatsoever. What fun it is to play in the rain.

Larry Larry, it was good riding with you guys Saturday and look forward to doing it again soon. You mentioned the gnarly trails, after Nelson, Wiley, and myself split from you guys it got a little more sporting. First trail we tried was like a mini creek trail, deep mud, tight spots, and multiple line choices. Next trail I'll have to let Wiley comment on where it was located but before we started down one steep descent Nelson had to stop and get out of his machine to clean off biting ants unhappy with our intrusion; Wiley pointed out hornet activity in a heavily over grown and deeply rutted drop off so Nelson and I graciously let Wiley proceed down first! The whole time we were descending the deep ruts, over grown brush, and switch backs I hoped we would not be greeted with a locked gate at the bottom, luckily we popped out on a road. I will have to find that trail and tag it Lucifer's Revenge. The remainder of our ride was not as exciting. We checked Miracle Mountain and found a new gate had been erected, so still no go for passing thru on the county road.

Hey Doc, i am not a big fan of riding in the heat and dust. I like the snow and cold kind of riding... Serious, I hope I can make it up soon.... Now that I live 7 hours away it takes a little more planning....
