If I sell the boat this year we could be game. Tyler I could always put a back seat in and you could just fly out.

I haven't been in the club for many years. I joined back up once a couple of years ago but never ended up doing any rides with anyone, I always end up riding with the same friends and family members with no time in between for additional rides. This trips sounds like a lot of fun. I am sure you have but has anyone looked into what it would cost to have someone else haul your SxSs out there so you could just fly out. The drive out and back doesn't sound fun at all!

Yes, I inquired with a car shiping company I have used in the past. The quote I got to take my SxS from Winston-Salem, NC to Salmon, Idaho was $2,400 one way. There and back was $4,800. I have used this shiping company in the past to take my SxS to Arizona and back. Flying in is another problem. Salmon, Id has a small airport. Cost to get from a large nearby airport like Salt Lake City, UT or Boise, ID was $1,500 one way. We drove instead. It took us 4 days to drive from Winston-Salem to Salmon and 3 long days coming back. I didn't enjoy the riding and driving. My friend who I rode with doesn't mind driving. So I drove just a little bit and he drove a lot.
You are probably wondering why we couldn't start and finish in a larger city with a reasonably large airport. Well, you still have to get your SxS there. Plus, I couldn't find a single SxS rental outfit who would let me drive their vehicle 800 miles around the Frank Church Wilderness area. Not a one. The rental SxSs were for local trips. You could fly into a major airport and then rent a car to Salmon, ID. I've done this several times for other destinations. You just have to get someone to haul a SxS to your starting point.
Was Idaho a great trip? I've been lucky enough to ride in several states. By far, Idaho was the best. It beats them all by a long shot. The views, the experience, the varied terrain, the mountains, the virgin forests, the cliffs, the rivers, the trails, the emotions and wonder of it all. I'm going back next year. I have a fear of heights. I've conquered this fear and will do it again just to see and experience it all again.

If you guys could do this trip in early August I might could make it work, that is if that's ok with everyone. I would certainly meet some of you in WV sometime before then and ride with you since a lot of you either haven't met me or don't remember me. If I do go I can take my KRX and one more machine. Or if we had two smaller machines like a 900s or 1000s, we could probably load the two smaller machines sideways and my KRX on front to back for three total. I have a 24' deck over trailer. Would be breaking the width laws a little but probably not enough to get pulled over.

@tom Roger that. These are all the places mentioned in the original posts. I just added the cost based on an august time frame and the URL for each Hotel.

OK we set dates for the Idaho part of our trip. See calendar at this atvtrailblazer.proboards.com/thread/6751/idaho-trip link for dates and list for the places we will be staying. We also plan to ride some days in Wyoming on the way back home but have not set places to stay yet. We will post that info up once we finalize it. Post up if you're thinking of going but book soon as there are not many rooms available in any of these towns.
