Started out as Oceana but we quickly realized Oceana has zero riding. It’s all gates - coal mines and hunt clubs. After an hour and 20 miles of road we decided to head toward Man Wv. Quick loading of SXS then hunting for my dropped Talon key we finally headed out. Thanks to Bob for finding my key and to Larry, Allen, and Darryl on being patient while I searched.
Ended up staying in Justice WV at Stone Creek Lodge. It’s an old hotel but worked great for last minute stay.

Friday we rode maybe 25 miles. Ended with Bob slicing his tire and us trying Darryl’s external patches. Pretty cool but did not work on Bobs tire. Finally used plugs. Went back to hotel and still holding air so Bob decided to keep riding that tire. Ate a great dinner at the Justinian restaurant. Steve arrived Friday for Saturday’s ride.
Saturday was a perfect ride. Did a loop to Gilbert up the trails there, across RockHouse and Devil Anse trails then to Kentucky/Matewan and up Tug River trail. Pretty cool loop. Cut it a little short at 100 miles due to Allens X3 decided it didn’t want to shift the primary or secondary. Took the road back the last 12 miles but good timing anyway since it was 5:30. Ate another great dinner at the Justinian.
Ride report doesn’t do this Justice. Plenty of great loop options and riding still left in that area. I’m definitely up for going back whenever.
No pics from me. I’m too lazy to take pics and just prefer to ride. We did pass many motorcycles on the trails and I even got to help one up after he dropped his KTM. He was exhausted and I totally understood. Slick hills dodging SXS and rocks is hard on a motorcycle - this reaffirmed to me how much I love riding a sxs. Lol.
Cleaning the mud off sxs was unusual after this ride. It was like cement. Crazy hard to remove.
