Danville Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. Even when you're doing everything right, there are inherent dangers with riding through our beautiful trails that you can't predict. Yesterday we assisted Morrisvale Volunteer Fire Department with an ATV rescue at Ballard Fork caused by one of these incidents. A group of riders on buggies and side by sides were stopped in a wide spot when a large tree suddenly snapped and crushed the cage on a CanAm Maverick that was owned and ridden by two out of state riders. Extracation was performed by Morrisvale personnel and we transported to the LZ in our 6x6 with two paramedics from Boone County Ambulance Authority treating the patient. Thank you to HealthNet Aeromedical Services for the bird from Morgantown, and for everything you do for our community!

Weird I think about that all the time when we stop for breaks, how we’re part of a dangerous sport but getting hit by a falling tree when we’re setting around socializing is a real possibility.
