Nelson, only on Day 5 from Ephraim to Castle Dale do we have a 66" trail, but there is any easy route around it.

I've made our reservations for Utah. Staying where everyone else is except in Bryce (Bryce Canyon Resort) where Tim is and then at Big Mtn. Lodge in Ferron where Wiley is.

Kathy and I just arrived into Moab a couple of hours ago (my first time here). We're here in the RV and towed the Jeep out. Left Rocky Mountain NP this morning. Heading through ID on our way to Oregon/Washington after 4 days here. Pretty excited about seeing the area!

Camping was fine. We had to dry camp 4 nights at a Moab RV park due to it being crazy busy; we had changed our route at the last minute because of weather further north as we headed west. That week was a huge Bronco Jamboree and most of the campsites were taken by those. I loved Moab and would ride everything we saw - but we didn't see but a fraction of what's there. That said, I don't think I'd want just that kind of riding for a week...maybe just a few days. We camped in Coeur d' Alene, ID the last two nights and are now near Bozeman, MT overnighting tonight. Tomorrow we're driving through Yellowstone on our way to camping at Teton National Park for a few days then heading east. Apparently there is a lot of riding around this area of Montana as one of the camp hosts has a SxS and said he can ride all day and never backtrack. I too loved Idaho riding and the scenery. We will return home in the first few days of June after 5 weeks on the road. Epic trip!

I was just figuring cost for driving out and back. At 15mpg conservatively estimating it ends up costing $1,400.00 for diesel out and back. I have room for someone in my truck and trailer for their ride to help split up our cost. If fuel prices continue to rise I might have to call off the trip.

I calculated $2400 in diesel at 10 mpg and $5.75/gal. The Cummins will likely do worse - closer to 9mpg.
I’d bet Diesel will be over $6 by then. I don’t see US Refinery capacity improving.

I know the last trip my f250 got 11.5mpg pulling the 30ft trailer loaded down. My 2500 gets alot better milage than my f250 ever thought about getting. It gets 13mpg pulling my 40ft 5th wheel, so I hope a little better pulling a 20ft

I'll stay in touch and might possibly split the cost with you if the people want to charge what I think they will.

Unfortunately Ken, your stickers are worthless in Utah. Utah requires you to get an Utah OHV sticker. To be street legal in Utah read the link below. I don't think my SD palates are legal since Utah does not reciprocate with SD, that is according to SD. Utah requirements
