This is not a destination or a long distance trip but my wife Lois and daughter Amber are planning me a surprise birthday party for this June... See I turn 60 on June 3rd and they are planning a riding trip out of Hilltop...
We have rented a cabin and and the Tiny House from Sherry at Hilltop Escape and we are going to have 3 couples riding... Lois and I, Amber and son-in-law Brian and good friends Guy and Angie. Guy and Angie are new to this sport as they just bought Tom's 2017 Commander.
We plan on arriving on Thursday 6-18-20 and riding Friday and Saturday out of Hilltop. May have a cookout on Saturday night so Saturday may be a short riding day. I know this is Father's Day weekend but this was the best weekend for Brian and Amber and Guy and Angie.
So please put it on your calendar and come join us for a fun weekend celebrating my 60th birthday.

I have not posted about this ride in a while but we are still on for Fathers Day weekend at Hilltop for my 60th birthday..
My birthday is tomorrow but we planned the ride on Fathers Day so my son-in-law could join us.
As of now, Lois and my son-in-law Brian are coming, as well as my next door neighbor Guy and his wife Angie... My daughter is pregnant so she is staying home with the fur babies.
We plan arriving after lunch on Thursday, (6/18/20) may or may not ride Thursday depending on what time we arrive.
Ride Friday and Saturday and leave Sunday.
I know Doc and Bob originally had other plans but they may free now and Tom and Larry originally signed up...
Planning a fish fry on Saturday afternoon.... I have a lot of fresh and saltwater fish that is needing some grease... May go to Buffalo Trails on Friday night...TBD.
Please let me know if you can eat with us on Saturday so I can plan the food amount...
Don't have any destinations in mind so looking for some ideas on where to ride...

Davy, We are set for the beach and I can’t get out of it. Enjoy the fish. I would be a piscaterian that weekend if I could make it.

Thanks Doc for the well wishes and we will certainly miss you that weekend but enjoy the beach and the family for Fathers Day...I guess will have to fill in with some jokes..

Hey Davy! Angie and I are excited about the trip. We can’t wait to help celebrate your birthday and Father’s Day on the trails. The fish fry is going to be amazingly delicious. This is going to be an awesome time!

Thinking about riding to Skyline Lodge one day...I have never been there. Any idea the best route and how long it will take?

Sorry Davy but my ride is out of commission until I replace the front diff seals. Bob has a track to Skyline I'm sure.

I’ll be up Father’s Day weekend with my buddy Dave. We’re taking one of my former co-workers over to Anawalt then trek to Black Wolf mine. Not sure where we will go after that.
Anyone know if Windmill Gap is still open; was two weeks ago.

WMG will always be open. We went down it Friday and when we came to the mine they had temporary Yellow tape across it for blasting. They were getting ready to blast next to the road. He said we could go through after the blast. We talked to one of the mine employees at length waiting for the blast. He told us they cannot block the road. Only temporarily if the are blasting close to the road. He showed where we could park to get the best view of both blast. He was very nice and gave us a horn honk 15 seconds before the blasts so we would be watching. He said they should be finished in about a year. I posted the second large blast live on Facebook.
