So after 2500 miles I guess its time to change those u joints. upon inspection I found tons of play in the white one and almost flying apart in the green one. we seldom use 4wd so I'm not sure why other than the creek water that the u joints would be on there way out already. so take a lesson from me and check your front prop shaft. rear shaft was fine on both.

I don't think using 4wd matters. The shaft turns whenever you are moving. I actually think using 4wd is best since your rear axles take less shock since they spin less.

On the sportsman, the spindle that connects the front prop shaft to the gear box can be weak. Driving in 4wd will create problems too. This is the first time I've heard front knuckle problem on the sportsman.
