Had a great week of riding out of Hilltop:
Tuesday:
Eric, Alex & Dave (Father, son & Grandfather) from NJ drove their 40 foot motor home to Ashland for this ride. We also had Greg S and his grandson Worth plus Charlie D. We all started at Ashland and rode to the connector trail to Pocahontas system. Rode several trails before going into Bramwell for lunch at the Corner Shop. A bit cold but a great day of riding.
Wednesday:
Same Group of riders as Tuesday. We left Ashland and rode the creek trail to tiny's, then took the easy haul road to Welch. Lunch was at KFC and fuel up at the Exxon. Then rode trails back to haul road. And since the 2 young riders had so much fun on the creek trail we took it back. Temp went to almost 70 and was sunny and nice all day
Thursday:
Same group plus Larry M and His Brother Tony & Lennie M. Left Ashland and went to the creek trail. Then went up the bypass trail some to a connector trail to the haul road. We went to the Flag rock area which is now very much like the view with fantastic views. Picked up the trail to tinys off the haul road and came back in the creek trail again.
Friday:
This group was Me, Jim G, Greg W, Larry M, Tony (Larry's Brother), Lennie M, Charlie D, Tim B & Nelson B. Rained in the morning and we did not leave out until about 10:30. Took Never ending trial to Northfork and ate lunch at the Miners Cafe. Poured rain while we were eating and stopped by the time we were ready to leave. Picked up a trail out of Keystone but Greg W. tore a gash in his tire. They were able to plug it with about 17 plugs but we turned back as we knew the plug would not hold long. It lasted all the way back to hwy 52 in Keystone. Greg rode with Tim B. to his truck and went to get his machine. We cut the day short but was another great weather day as we missed all the rain.
Saturday:
A bit cold and only about 43 Degrees when we left out. Went the creek trail north and followed outlaw trails to the pinnacle system. From there we went into Mullens for lunch. Then followed Larry on some new to me trails which eventually brought us back to the pinnacle system. Followed the connector trail back to tinys then the Bypass trial back in.
I had a great week and think all others enjoyed their days also......
