Got me one of those cheapo Harbor Freight tire changers so I could try to change my own tires. For $40 not bad. I can dismount a tire and mount another in maybe 15 min. Took me 2.5 hrs to dismount 7 tires (were on my older stock rims) and mount 5 (including spare). The time includes the dang slow beadlock rings that have 40 screws in each and cleaning/sanding the nasty rims and beadlock rings and saving some of the slime I had in the tires in case I need it later (holding air good without now). If I took it somewhere it still would have taken over and hour and I would have had to figure out how to get the rim cleaned good. Anyway I wish I had purchased one of these years ago. Bet I have gone through 50+ tires since 2006. I normally pay $7 to $10 a tire to mount. www.harborfreight.com/manual-tire-changer-69686.html

Yeah the tires aren't to hard to mount and dismount. I get plenty of practice on trailer and bobcat tires.

I'm hoping to beat the new tires up soon. I've got a set of rear axles on order - my originals have a slight noise going forward. Not too bad - mostly likely just dry but I'm gonna have to replace them in next 500 miles or so. I'm good for several days of riding before I replace. My front steering rack also has quite a bit of play but I'm hoping I can adjust the play out. If not I will order a rackzilla in the next several months. I wish Honda would get off the pot with the new 1000cc sport SxS....
Looked at weather for Saturday and it's 36F for high. Sunday is 51F. I'm off all of the next week so I'm fairly open...

Don't forget to add tie rods to your list that you bent a few rides ago.

I'm never replacing tie rods again. Bend back with a board and keep rolling. I've bent several and can't figure out why given that I try to stay on pavement....
And I don't think even the Yankee wants the 3 tires I have left over. All three have holes bigger than a quarter. Two of them are impressive looking on the inside since the 20 plugs each are very full of hardened slime inside the tire. That's why they held air so well.
