Amber and I rode almost all of the new connector trails and some of the other new devil anse trails apart of that system which just branch off the connector trail. will upload the tracks when I get back. connector trail crosses 52 and staying just north of kingcoal hwy ending in a holler. connector is not even 50% complete and has a lot of work to be done, but we saw the dozers parked and they are actively working on it...

Cool, they made it sound like it was finished on dirtrax TV. I have always wanted to do a two day trip out of hilltop. I think it would be feasible without much blacktop once this is done.

would like to plan a trip from hilltop/anawalt to gilbert, stay at gilbert overnight and ride rockhouse. then from gilbert to matewan stay at matewan overnight then ride buffalo mountain then back to hilltop over a 4-5 day ride. wingos resturaunt has a deal with a 6 person bunk for $90. (greatdeal). Ps. buffalo mountain fire has moved all the way over near the mushroom rock, I could not believe it but saw it personally. the original location seems to be dead, no smoke and vegetation is growing over that area.

Sounds like a plan, Scott and I rode the single track that went above the fire in 2014. I think those trails are blocked off now.

Sorry that I did not make this ride. Since my back went out I did not even have the chance to hunt. Excellent idea on the multi day ride and we will have to plan on it for 2016.
Thanks for the update on the trails and glad to hear that all went well this past weekend.

We rode from Gilbert to Welch back in November and it was a great ride. Around 150 miles.

Brad, what percentage was trail, road, etc.

By trail I expected Gilbert to Welch to be 30 to 45 miles or so one way by trail. I would never have thought 75 miles.
I gotta try this sometime.

Brad, what percentage was trail, road, etc. Sorry bob just saw this. I would say 70% trails and 30% black top. Majority of the trails were old dirt roads basically. You get a pretty cool view of the prison once you get close to Welch. Id like to ride from bramwell to Gilbert and stay the night in Gilbert. Or vise versa.
