Hey guys. Just a short story about the stage 3 kit. After talking to Laramie at Zbroz, I decided to order this upgrade with the slightly heavier rear mainspring due to the extra weight on my xp900 (cage, bumper, tools, etc.). My stock shock set up was bottoming out and bunny hopping badly. Included were #250 front springs, #325 rear main springs, and #800/1600 rear tender springs along with race tested valving on all four. Laramie was great to work with and easy to get a hold of(unlike a popular spring retailer from Michigan). He will work with you on price. I got the whole works for $900 including shipping back from Utah. You may do better. How does it work?......
My daughter and I went to Uwharrie yesterday and had a blast. It was muddy, as expected, and the run-off berms have been built up over the winter. It seams like the rocks have gotten more pronounced over the years. The ride was firm but not harsh. Body roll is reduced and ground clearance is now 15". We hit the many erosion berms (built totally wrong for jumping) fairly aggressively and with confidence. No bottoming out and way less bunny hop. We couldn't test high speed handling due to the mud but I'm having good vibes about the cornering.
Most of you know that there is one area at Uwharrie that can be difficult. Daniel Hill. Yesterday it was sloppy with red clay and very few people were attempting it. The 900 went down and up it with relative ease. On the way up I had to choose a less than optimal line due to a grenaded Jeep and the pucker factor increased. The added lateral stability of the new shocks really helped as I got a little sideways working around it. All in all, a great day and upgrade.
