*** Saturday 9/8/12 - Back in Town and Photobucket is working and I loaded pics *** Larry M, David B and I stayed at hilltop Thursday night so we would be closer for our Friday morning drive. Friday - we left hilltop early and went to Bear Wallow trail head. Started out about 9:30 and rode mostly blue trails. Many of which had been bulldozed flat and wide. We did hit a few challenging spots on a couple of black trails but nothing so difficult as to require a spot. Went into Logan for lunch at a restaurant named "317" - very good food. Then rode more of Bear Wallow that afternoon. Covered about 53 miles and was all good except the dust. Very dry here, all the mud holes & creek beds were dry. see pics below

Sunday - Steve G, Larry M, Dave B & I rode Rockhouse again today. Lonnie and Vivian rode themselves today. The dust was almost gone through the morning as it rained overnight - thank god!!! Hit as many green and blue trails again - tried a black trail but hit a nasty spot and turned around. Went into to town again for lunch. Then Larry led us exploring off system trails and found some interesting stuff - as tough as what we turned around on earlier. However we all did fine and I enjoyed it. Clocked 87 miles. Steve went explorin' !!!!!! Monday - Steve G, Lonnie and Vivian Headed off for home this morning. Dave B, Larry M. and I rode some more. Did a big loop of the system but had rode many of these earlier this weekend. But was a good morning, no dust and we moved along. Rode 43 miles of trails and was back to the campground by 11:30 AM. We cleaned up and headed for home. This was Vivians first time back riding in 4 years so we took it as easy as possible for the weekend. We arrived Friday evening around 9 and got settle in. Saturday morning the guy's wanted me to lead so I did and it was a fairly slow ride for them but no complaints at all. Sunday me and Viv rode alone so the others could cover some ground and we just poked around all day. Viv even drove the atv back on trail 12 all the way to the campground. She was impressed with the power steering for sure. Great weekend and she hopes to go again in the future.

Glad to hear Vivian is back in the saddle again. I remember all of those years when we went to Twin Hollow with the kids. I remember Vivian riding her own ATV back then. Remember her ride back from Man on the road and she flew up that trail behind Twin Hollow. Those were some good times.

We were talking about all the times we had been up there with the club. Everybody just throwing stuff on the grill and having a feast, watching the kids trashing the mud holes. Times have changed but the memories last forever.

What a fantastic weekend. It was my first time riding with the TTB and everyone was really friendly. My carb was acting up and Lonnie helped me figure out a way to keep riding. Sunday Larry was leading at such a fast pace it took everything I had to keep up. It was challenging and fun.
Saying Rockhouse is rocky is an understatement. Many areas are entirely oversized gravel with random big ones to keep you on your toes. I really loved the long steep climbs. There was one trail were you're climbing full blast and every 50 feet or so a giant speed bump launches you into the air. I could have done that all day without getting bored. Not that there is any chance of getting bored. There are tons of great trails to ride.
I'll never forget what from now one will be called the coal mine incident. Thanks to Larry and Dave for pulling me out.

Yep, the memories from the old Twin Hollows Labor Day Trips are some of the best. Those were good times for sure. It's also one of the only times my wife went riding with me. I rented here a rhino and she wouldnt drive it so she rode Lonnie's old Kodiak and I drove the Rhino. Noone found any paper plates on the hood of their truck did they? ;D

Steve G joined TTB but only after "initiation" where he had to get his keys from the borehole with Larry holding the safety rope on him. If this sounds strange, wait till you see confirmation in the pics. One thing for sure, DO NOT let Larry lead the ride! (kidding) he did an awesome job. DO NOT put a charcoal cooker on a wooden table(ask Tom ). Be wary of any clear liquid beverage that Tom brings in a Mason jar!!!!
