OK, everybody knows about my truck, what kind and all well here is my problem. Since I have owned the truck I've had to have some kind of switch replaced in the transmission, the bearings went out in the rear end, and now I have a leak on the front diff seal. Now everything but the seal was covered under warranty but now the warranty is out. If I have had this much problems in under 75,000 miles what gonna happen later on in the trucks life. I mean I thought when I bought this truck it would go at least 150,000 miles before things started wearing but this is really bumming me out. I'm thinking of getting rid of it but man I hate to take a big lost on it. I must have got one that was made on Friday afternoon before a Holiday.

Lonnie, I have 165K on mine and at around 140K I did change out a bunch of seals. Other than that no complaints from me. Just keep in mind that replacing a few seals/parts over time is much cheaper than a payment LOL

Front Diff seals on solid axles can leak -- it's fairly common. The seal on the driveshaft input is normally not very expenive to have done. The one's on the end at the wheels can be more. The key is knowing a good mechanic that will bill fairly. Dodge Dealerships will not in my experience.
Sounds like you need to trade for a truck that has a lifetime warranty that is transferable. I know someone with one of those.... LOL

Fixing is not the problem, I guess I'm just disappointed in the truck. I have always drove Toyota's and never had any problems until around 150,000 miles and then only minor stuff. This is suppose to be the big daddy of work trucks, made to pull and get her done so to speak and so far a gear switch in the transmission, bearings in the rear end and now a seal in the front differental all in under 73,000 miles. I'm not impressed at all. Now the motor is a beast and have no problems with it. I'm just venting so pay me no mind. ;D

Lonnie, I doubt you will get more 'repairs" than normal with a bit more miles vs buying a new one. Toyota and all Japan vehicles are just good... always have been... that's why the BIG 3 are not 90% of the US market anymore

Lonnie, if there is a record of these seals being repaired under warranty before, they may fix it again. Some manufacturers guarantee a fix for life. Anyway, might be worth checking on.
The auto transmissions can have a solenoid issue that causes shifting issues. Not sure if this is what you are speaking of, but one fix is the wrap one of the leads (cannot remember which one) in aluminum foil. I know, I know, sounds hokey, but it has cured shifting issues on a lot of 47re and 48re transmissions. It's a shielding thing causing feedback causing the shift pattern issues. Anyway, it's an easy search and fix if that is whay you speak of.
All vehicles have little tweaks. Jap cars are very good, but they are not working as hard a big 1 ton truck (pulling heavy trailers, etc) so they will require a little more attention. That said, that truck should last you a long, long time. Knock on wood, my Dodge's have been very good to me and almost no nickel and dime issues.
