Ca-am has enough issues with frames, electronics, and other weird issues lately. Now they come out with a SxS that has real emissions controls that includes a Catalytic Converter and 2 Oxygen sensors. Sure -- how fast can I buy one of those!!! ? NOT.... That is not the SxS to be the Guinea Pig in. Makes me wonder how well O2 sensors and an expensive Cat Converter does under water/mud. Also I wonder how a 550F+ Cat Converter would do riding in brush and weeds. They do that Cat Converter stuff and leave off the real needed stuff like power steering. I really think Can-am needs a little guidance. Ever sinse that developed that 3-wheel "motorcycle" they have lost their mojo. That emissions technology needs to be proven off-road. I remember Farmers taking the Cat's off their trucks due to field fires. I'm a Can-am fan but not for this one yet....

Can-am's send off Check Engine Lights for many things. I'm 100% sure losing the catalytic converter means you will ride around with a light on and with an inoperable (default setting) airflow sensor. That Cat comes with many issues. It sounds like one piece but I'm sure it drives many other things.
Remember -- Can-am does not even allow the user to reset the maintenance reminder by the owner. That simple task requires the Can-am BUDS software that only licensed active dealers have.

Is there not an aftermarket electronics module to overcome the Can Am ECM? When I test drove a Commander, that is one of things I disliked. When sliding it through a turn, the throttle would back off which I think is dangerous. It made it catch a little making it tippy. If you could spin the rears on through a turn, there is less resistance to make it tippy. I figured someone surely had a module to get rid of the limiters.
My other beef was when riding with other Commanders the Visco-Lok (mocked as the Crisco-Lok) differential was slow to engage causing the Commander to really struggle where other SxS's would just ease right through. Even with the QE diff, I've seen them struggle. I understand you can drive around this difficiency by being aggressive, but I really thing this is the biggest strike against the Can Am.
Anyway, I like the power of the Commander well. I like the layout and fit and finish of the Commander. I also like the utility and dual level bed.
I'm was thinking the Maverick should be a bit lighter weight helping all of these maladies, however with much less utility. I still think it will be interesting to see how it performs. I can tell you with 88hp in my RZR XP that the thing is just awesome and a game changer in SxS's.....the Maverick could be the same thing from the Can Am stable. I hope so since competition is a good thing for us as a consumer.

Ouch no seat belt and the seat came out... That's a pretty wild video Michael! Looks better in the video than in pictures I've seen.
