OK, I have a dilemma.... and need some opinions. Should I put a 2 inch lift on my new RZR. Here is the lift kit I am looking at. sxsheadquarters.com/polaris-rzr-2-lift-kit-1/The claim it is safe on the CV joints and what not.... any advice will be appreciated. Thanks, Kris H

Lifts are harder on CV joints since they increase the angle. I personally would avoid lifts and bigger tires unless you really prefer looking cool but working on stuff more....

Its up to you, a lot of guys do run them with no issues. I am debating putting one on my S. But just as an FYI I wouldn't go with Racer Tech they have gotten some pretty bad reviews and feedback about their support and product. To be fair they have also gotten some good reviews.
Personally I would go with the EMP lift, if I get one thats what it will be.

Oh, I should also say....if you go with the EMP one call them and tell them you are a member on WVSXSriders and you will get a heavy discount from their website price!

Yeah, after reading a few other forums on other sites and a few reviews I think I will skip the lift... would rather scrape a few rocks and save the money for other add ons

Good choice on skipping the lift. Great skids are a better investment. I had a lift on the rear of my Rhino and it lost a CV joint at 1600 miles. I fully blame the lift angle.

People ask me about lift or no lift all the time. I never worried about CV joints though.

From what all I have read looks like I can go a few inches taller on my tires and not cause too much of a problem, just nothing too big ... and then the other major CV busting/bind factor seems to be related to how you throttle it when loosing and gaining traction.... which makes total sence.

I guess you can have issues with a lift but maybe I've been fortunate. I've had lift's on 2 of my vehicles with no issues. I will say that the older I've gotten, the less I want to modify something. The more you modify, the more likely you are to break something.....next weakest link downstream in the system. Anyway, that is why I bought a vehicle that had pretty much everything I wanted performance wise on it stock with the RZR XP. I bought 5 years of warranty and don't plan any mods so that nothing would be disallowed by warranty.
I'll also say this, the Gorilla lift was the best system in a lift I've bought. Not cheap, but a great product.....almost like buying warranty when you buy a top notch product like this. By the way, I wasn't counting this lift in the above totals since it comes with it's own CV's etc....I was only counting lifts on stocks axles.
