I went to WV to ride with Coop and friends this weekend. My 4wd truck was in the shop so I drove my 2wd Ford van. By the time I got to Wytheville the temp gauge was at the top and steam was coming from under the hood. A local atv rider sent me to Hedricks auto repair. They fixed the 2x 3/4" hose that caused the prob.Hedricks did a great job quick and cheap! Sat was supposed to be very wet but all we got was drizzle. It rained after we got to the trailer late afternoon. We rode southwest of Hilltop some of which may become the new H/M area. The real surprise was Sun am when rain which was supposed to have some sleet became almost a whiteout of snow and 5" fell by 10am. The road out was impassable for my van so I went to the Blue Bldg and checked in. I was able to get off the mountain today by 2pm after the plow had been through and traffic had made a path. Somehow I lost a wheel cover off the van on the way home,Oh well, it was an adventure of sorts.

It definitetly gets interesting when the weather changes. Waiting for a break is the best idea if your schedule allows.

We went to an area that I saw 4 to 5 years ago shown on Bob's map as the frog pond. Thats where I found a tree growing thru an old steering wheel and used it for a winch anchor point. I could not find it this time. Bob T was with us as was Bill J the first time I was there.

Doc, the last time I was in that area they had been logging and the pond was gone. I'm not sure I would know the area now if I went through it.

The pond is still there but the trails around it are changed.
