Soon to be 4 years on my stock battery , Anyone replaced theres yet or found a source for the twin motor battery? Funny part is mine blinks battery when the fan comes on but cranks great and shows on the meter to be OK , and the CDI shows to be putting out strong .

It only flashes when its been sitting awhile , or when its been idiling , or when the fan cuts on . The meter shows the CDI producing and the battery at rest at 12 volt and CDI higher . One cell was bubbling slightly when I checked the water ( maybe one bubble in 1 mintute or longer . I figure a weak cell but don't want to wait for it to fail to replace .

I would suggest one of the trickle chargers, a battery tender, my dad kept one on his vette and harley, worked great thru the winter when there use went down. U can get one that hooks onto the terminals and just a little quick clip that sticks out to hook it up simply.

Drew you need to do a load test on the battery and see what you are charging at idle. I have all you need to test that if you need some help.
I had that come up on my POPO a while back and found that the battery ground needed to be made better after adding the winch. Those little battery posts are borderline useless if you add such an accessory.

That is what I was guessing that there was a problem other than just the battery . Can you load a CDI like a Alternator ? I put a meter on the battery at rest ( motor off ) and it showed 12volt, at idle it showed higher , but did not think to wait on fan and lights to see if it was carrying the load with all the accessories . It is a intermitiant problem I just would hate to burn a CDI to save the cost of a new battery . Will check the grounds , thanks Phil .

You can load test it, but use the accessories that are on the ATV. Once the fan is on, turn on all three lights and hold the brake and see what voltage it is producing. If I am not mistaking, the charging system does not increase at idle though. If I remember correctly its 2200 rpm on the Polaris.

12.5 at rest ( not running ) 13.5 idle ( no load ) 2200 rpm , 14-14.5 full load ( fan , lights , brake lights ) , looks fine to me , must be the fact it sits to long , weeks at a time . Will put a trickel charge on it and see what happens .

I'v let mine sit for extended periods without being ridden and my fires up everytime, but of course, it is a honda! lol. My truck however will drain the battery and be completely dead if it doesn't get cranked every so often.
