Glad to see you coming Lonnie I have missed riding this past year, mom was in and out of the hospital all summer and then in Sept. Vivian was in a bad car wreck. Hopefully 2023 will be less dramatic and I can get away from home more. Never been to Royal Blue, whats it like.

Well Lonnie - I have never been either so I don't know - Bur Carver has been and says they have about 150 miles of trails we would ride and Windrock has about the same 150 miles of trails we would ride ---

i have been to both systems. It has been 4 years since I was at Windrock but I was not impressed. The trails at that time were either really easy or really hard. I have been to Royal Blue several times and like those trails a lot better....I will do some research and try and find the links but we will need to purchase separate permits for each system.... I am going to try and work it out where I can go also....I have not been on a big club ride in a couple of years and would like to ride with everyone again.....Also, Bob has the maps published on his link, which I will try and find....
Here is a link to a video I took on our trip to Windrock...

Just my 2 cents, you may want to look at one of the other systems like Sundquist instead of windrock.

The linked to GE file shows all of the various TN riding areas. Just click on a shaded area and it will tell you which system it is. Windrock and Coal Creek are the same system. Google Earth file of TN trails by system

Tyler - why do you think we should skip Wi rock?

Attached are two screenshots of the East TN trails. I have added overlays for each system, Windrock. Royal Blue. New River, Brimstone, and Sunquist. Do you think I should add it to the map. Will only work on Orux.

I think the overlay is pretty cool. oruxmaps is all I use. I just downloaded the E Tenn map a couple days ago, so if you do update the map, let us know so I can download the new and improved version. Thanks!

Tyler - why do you think we should skip Wi rock? Tom Windrock is a lot of technical “challenging” trails. Last time we went as a club I believe 50% of the group said they would never go back, and it wasn’t my fault 😂.

I like Windrock, yes some of the trails are challenging but just stay off the Black and Red ones. Chasing Tyler around up there was a true experience for sure.

I’m with Tyler, you should do Royal Blue and Sunquist they are connected and can ride with the same pass/licenses and you don’t have to move.
