Below is a link to my pictures and videos. I posted my favorite picture here. We rode a total of 665 miles over 6 days. Temperatures were as high at 103 degrees, but didn't seem that bad with the very low humidity. Only mishap was Tom bending his left tie rod into a bow. Chris was able to straighten the tie rod out with the meager tools we had on the trail. The ripples in the washes were still there. The Tyro Mine on day 2 and Jupiter Mine on day 5 were literally cool, natural air conditioning compared to outside temperature. After the ride, some of us went to several National Parks. It snowed on us in Flagstaff, AZ. Temperature was 30 degrees. Larry larrymccallie.smugmug.com/2022-Arizona-Trip/

I remember that spot of pic. Great area.
Sounds like a great trip. I hate ice in Flagstaff. It was that way last year.

Jupiter Mine is about 5 feet high and 3 feet wide. Steve and I went in about 100 feet and turned around. We didn't want to come up to any surprises since it was just the two of use. It was amazingly cool inside the mine. My guess it was 65 degrees inside while the outside temperature was near 100 degrees. Getting to the mine is 5.8 miles one way into a rugged low-lying ravine from the Quartzsite to Lake Havasu trail. A 15 feet section of the trail was washed away which required us to drive up a steep embankment. It is 16 miles from Havasu on the trail. The waypoint on the latest map is way off. I have attached a track and corrected waypoint to the mine. Near the mine, there is a trail to the right and a trail to the left. We tried the right trail first, but turned around after we started getting further and further away from the original waypoint. We then tried the left trail and found the mine. We were able to drive on top of the mine tailings. From there, the mine was about 10 feet away with an easy entrance. Jupiter mine isn't just one mine. We saw two others which were much more difficult to get to. One of the inaccessible mines was into what looked like a vein of quartz. The mine we went into was very hard solid brown rock. It would have taken some kind of pneumatic equipment to drill into the rock. Larry Attachments:Jupiter Mine.gpx (35.98 KB)

From what I understand from Tom, he was rounding a curve. He got into a rut, but there was a rock in the rut. He hit it hard, then noticed he had difficulty steering. He got on the radio and said, "Something is wrong". When you're at the front of his vehicle, his right wheel was straight and his left wheel was cockied.

Looks like y’all had a great time. We went into the mine by founders cabin late one night. The bats weren’t very happy. Attachments:
