Been following this in RZR forum and it looks like all it needs is Coopers signature. The only issue I see is a parking brake which I can add. S241v5.pdf (132.53 KB)

Great way to collect property tax. I don’t see landowners allowing SxS like WV.

Google NC Senate Bill 241. It says it does not include All-Terrain Vehicles and you have to have a emergency brake which no SxS has. Also you will have to pay a lot of taxes each year id you register it. Where will you ride it in NC?

Well now instead of spending money to make it street legal I can spend money on something else.
That's all I have to say about that [publicly].

Randy - Try driving up and down the road in North Carolina. Drive by the state troopers and local city cops. Let us know. Good luck. Ooh. You're not street legal yet.

The guy in the video got his registered legally as a motorcycle. That’s why the police officer let him go. Officer was surprised since Vin should not have allowed.

People keep telling me we can register side-by-sides starting October 1, 2021. So I followed Bob's suggestion and read the bill. It's available here: www.ncleg.gov/BillLookUp/2021/s241Then click the words at the top that say "Modified Utility Vehicle Def/Use of Funds." It says: "Modified utility vehicle" does not include an all-terrain vehicle, golf cart, or utility vehicle, as defined in this section, or a riding lawn mower. So what type of vehicle is this intended for? I did not find anything about an emergency brake. I'd like to be able to drive mine to the gas station.

Going to be interesting, currently you cannot Title or register an ATV in NC. I assume that will change. People will most likely pay property tax each year and with the price of these machines it will be a lot. I suspect insurance requirements may change.

Perhaps by “all terrain vehicle” they mean a quad. The size restrictions prevent a quad from qualifying.
