John - I spoke with the bed and breakfast this week. They are on shutdown orders until further notice, so they don't know if they will be open.
At this point I don't think this trip will happen. I'll touch base with them in a few weeks to see if they hear anything about trails opening

I have cancelled my reservation at the Matewan Bed & Breakfast. Instead of getting my money back, I postponed my stay until a later date.

I emailed them last night. I was thinking of doing the same provided we are going to move this trip to a later date.

One reason is if things open up on the 1st I'm going to have a huge backlog of work that time off will be at a minimum, if any.
I guess waiting to see is not a bad idea.
Believe me I am dying to get to WV. YouTube ain't cutting it

I had her put me on hold. She mentioned that there are no refunds due to there's no cash flow. Absolutely understand. Even if some people go as planned and others don't she's going to let those who don't go come back at a later time. She's doing right by everyone. |

I suggest we go ahead and pick a date in June and move the Matewan reservations.. If not June then let's pick a date in the fall.... By picking a date in the fall that will let David and Ellen book other guests, which should help their cash flow now..You know as soon as the Stay at Home is lifted all of the lodging places are going to be swamped with bookings...I am free any time in June but Fathers Day weekend which is June 19-20-21... We have reservations at Hilltop Campground for my 60th Birthday party.... Don't forget that weekend..

I would be interested in a fall ride to Matewan, we have been doing early May and maybe the trails will look somewhat different with some fall colors and still have the cool temps. Maybe early to mid Oct

I got email from them yest saying my reservations were cancelled. Me too. When I called her she said it was more of a postponment. I don't think she's sending out refunds. |
