So for those of you running the same rear tires size as in the front: is there any downside to the setup? I was thinking about replacing the stock tires on my RZR 900 S with a set of 28X10-14 Tusk Terrabites from Rocky Mountain ATV

The narrower rear tires will let you turn sharper and it's probably better for your axles. There is a slightly loss of rear traction as the tires go narrower but generally that loss is not an issue especially in trail riding. If you play in mud or do slick rock crawling the wider helps. You are looking at all 10's and that puts you wider in front and narrower in rear. You will likely see no difference - maybe a little sharper in turns.
I'm a fan of narrower tires in rear. Lots of positives for faster trail riding. All 9's make it steer really quick. Rears can break loose easier giving better turn-in.

My original plan was to stick with stock sized front rims of 12X7 and run 27X9-12 tires all around. Unfortunately, you can’t find aftermarket wheels with a 5-2 offset and Polaris bolt pattern. Plan B is to go with 14X7 rims. In the case of the Tusk Terrabite, 28X10-14 tires seems to be the best available size. Any flaws in plan B?

10’s are good. No issue there. I just did LT tires that measure a touch over 9”. They are 29 tall. Next step up would have been too heavy and tall.
