Been doing some research into the Arapeen Utah area for an upcoming big trip. The year we went to Moab we touched the southeast side of this area when we rode up around Joes Lake area. Doc and I did a second day up there and only touched a small area but really enjoyed the ride. Thats the area we ran into the sheep hearders and valley's full of sheep. Thats where the great western trail runs and skyland drive is also in that system. Some of the reviews like it as well as the piute system. The great western trail runs into Idaho .....for those long riders among us. sanpete.com/pages/atvIs much like Piute system it has several cities that border the trails with trailheads running out of the towns up into the mountains. Its about 2 hrs. South of Salt Lake City , if flying in becomes an option. Also within a day of Moab.....if you are of the rock crawling type. Those with crawlers could venture back on the rocks of hell. Tossing this around for some ideas. Dates ? Middle to late September Fly - Tow-Ship ? KB

For a return trip that would be my pick as there was a lot we didn't explore in that area but not going to make it this year have our 25th anniversary in August. One thing I do remember about the area is we ran across several trails that had the 50 inch rule strictly enforced with huge boulders so that's something to think about with the majority of RZRs in the club now.

Huge boulders not good. I will need bigger tires so I can crawl over them.
