Great App for Android

On another site people were discussing various Apps for Android and particular use on 7" and 10" Tablets. I have tried it and converted my map so it looks great on it. It is much clearer and detailed than an GPS. It looks great on my phone. My phone however sucks in sunlight. I understand some of the tablets do well in the sun. Most people are using them in SxS's. The App uses the GPX tracks and not a map.

The App is "BackCountry Navigator" and cost $9.99.

If you install on your SD card put the file in the folder below. There will already be two files called “default” in there.
"sd card\bcnav\data\"

Yes Ken. That's why Bob posted a track with Sterling. All trails lead to Welch.

How did we end up in Welch that last time? Didn't we leave Hilltop saying we were going to the mini-stairsteps? Who was leading -- they should be fired...

Nope, not fired, promoted! Those were some of the most interesting routes to Welch I've ever seen!

Now if we could get Alan to agree to eat at the china buffet.....

Weird thing was my map from Bob on my garmin does not have the route to welch. I still gotta figure out why not. Odd. It's the update Bob placed on it when we went to Charleston.

I have a Burning Rock pass on my front rack. That is a get out of jail free card in Sophia.

I got the app, I got the maps on my phone, but they will not show up. I put them in the bcnav/custom folder & also on my sd card under SD card/bcnav & i still can't get the to show up. in bcnav I go to "more map sources", custom mao scoure (beta) nothing there? any ID?

Daniel, these will be tracks not maps. They will show up on top of whatever map you select.

First, your directory should look like this:
sd card\bcnav\data\ WV ATV Trails 2013.bcn
sd card\bcnav\data\ WV ATV Trails 2013.bcn-journal


Press the menu button (mine is 3 parallel lines at the bottom of my phone)
Then select "Trip Data".
Then select "Switch to another trip database"
They you should see two options, "default" and "WV ATV Trails 2013"
Select "WV ATV Trails 2013"
Then select "Choose this trip"
The tracks will now be showing, but remember you are in Greensboro and the tracks are in WV. You will have to slide the map up to WV.
Also under "trip database" you should see "WV ATV Trails 2013" in the top box. You can click on this to see a list of each waypoint and track.
