Tom, Micheal P, Allen, Sara (my daughter) and myself rode out of Hilltop on 3/12. Explored a little bit down Windmill Gap road looking for the new Pocahontas trails. Never found them but no biggie. We then rode the old 52 trail in Northfork (after I unstuck the Rhino from a little creek crossing). Headed over to the Indian Ridge Trails for several hours. Nice and wet with no dust. Really great since temps were around 60F.
We stopped and ate at the Coffee shop in Northfork. Had a great Burger and got to meet the owners daughter who proceeded to tell us stories. Very interesting. Great burger and some entertainment. We also met a guy named Sam Larry who has a house to rent to ATV riders. Great deal that I posted in WV accomodations. We toured the house then headed to Tiny's.
Once we got to Tiny's we took the creek trail back to Pinnacle Creek. Wow -- those creeks were up the most I have seen in a while. Really fun. No real events other than Micheal getting stuck in 6" of water. High centered a rock but looked funny. Luckily no one had issues with the higher creeks. We saw several ATV groups that had issues and were repairing flooded ATV's. No stopping in the creeks this time since the water was to the top of the fenders. It made the ride really fun in the Rhino since the water was coming over the hood into the cab. FUN!!!
Anyway - another great WV ride. I love that State!!!
