Great Weekend for Riding ATV's. Tom, Larry, Micheal P, and myself arrived at Hilltop Saturday around 9:30am. Power had just come back on and there was 8" or so of snow on the ground.
We proceeded to Mullens. Great riding with the trees snow covered. Hit a limb and it would soak you with a bushel basket of snow falling off the tree. Most of the trails were virgin snow so we got to make some fresh track. Saw the top of the stairsteps with no tracks -- very unusual. Proceeded to Mullens via the the Bypass and came back by the creek trail. Highlights were Larry breaking bunches of ice and lots of snow. We went to Coal Camp and Micheal P purchased a HM permit. Tried to go back to Hilltop via the HM trails but was stopped on Trail 71. My Can-am could not get enough traction when the snow was holding it off the ground. Pain in the rear so we backtracked and took the road back to Hilltop since it was getting dark. We were the Triad-Road-Blazers at that moment. Shame we did not have street bikes.... LOL
Sunday we rode the HM trails and took the connector to Tiny's. Micheal P led us back via the creek trail. Uneventful other than Micheal P breaking through some ice. A good pic moment!!
Ended up being a great weekend. Ate what we brought but completed the weekend at Hardees shooting the bull. Can't beat a TTB weekend even if we did not get to ride the roads very much!!
