I ain’t worried about mud. I’m more worried about smelling a flat tire.

I didn’t even realize the dangerous gas can in the back of that Polaris back then. That was before the 20+ stop rides for burning.

Generally I agree but there was a lot of Chaos trying to get that broken axel out later and I don't recall any good memories from that!

It’s humorous for Ken and myself when we reflect back on it. It’s crazy how hard it is to move a 3 wheeled big SXS if it’s dragging a trailing arm anchor.

Long term weather forecast is looking good, hopefully it holds up. For the folks staying with me it's $142 each and they would like cash so please bring it with you. Michael B, Mike M and I are planning to be at the campground around lunch time 12:00 - 1:00 Thursday and ride half a day.
Thursday - half day warmup on the blue and green trails. Friday - full day on the park to ride everything. Saturday - full day plus off park adventure, plan to carry gas, last time I was over in Cawood the station had closed.

Per Ridge Runners FB page Dennis L Renner
The trail across mountain to Caewood to Virginia is now blocked for cole mining I think I don’t know about the trail to big black highest point in Ky. Check on Black mountain off-road page @black mountain off road Harlan ky ReplyShare1wEdited Bill Deb Turner Troutman Admin
Dennis L Renner The Trail to Cawood was blocked by a logging company. The trails on Big Black to the Radar Dome was leased by a hunting club and gates were put up blocking all access to that area.

I just loaded the tracks to Google Earth, not seeing any evidence of logging on the trail over to Cawood, does appear they are doing some logging off 1137 after we get on the road so shouldn't be an issue but you never know, may need to scout that out Thursday or Friday. The mining operation is true, cannot go that way any longer and was not planning to but you can get around it via the road. The trail to the highest point in KY is definitely gated now so that is a no go. If the trail to Cawood is closed that will seriously limit what we can do off park.

I’ll be up by noon Thursday same as Wiley. I’m a follower and will follow wherever Wiley leads. Sounds like he knows area best.
Weather looks perfect!
Allen and Bob - your share is $130 each. Cash preferred since we have to pay cash.
