This past Fri and Sat I rode with the JBS group. Fri we had 90 SxS's and 100 on Sat. Skyline Resort in Ghent was the headquarters. They have a nice bar, restaurant, and deck. THey have the ride very well organized so no one get lost at turns. Had a few breakdowns and stops. It is a very social event. I got some new tracks SE of Burning Rock. Very nice trails, one section had about a mile of 12" black thick mud. There were no creeks to wash it off. i had to use a pressure washer for an hour to get it clean. Muddiest my machine has ever been.
I stayed in a Winterplace sky lodge with Amy and Dylan Hardy, Keeter, Jimmy Yow, Mike St. John, Scott and Shannon Dunlap, Blair and Deb Wolf, and Glinda Cox, and WT. I knew them all and had ridden with them before. The "Lodge" was very small with 4 sets of 3 high bunk beds. We had a blast.
Ken - I rode with and became friends with you WV neighbor across the road. His name is Barry Maness, he used to have a place at Hilltop. Real nice guy. He told me about watching you run the bulldozer and he thought you were going to kill yourself so he told Melvin to go tell you to use the tractor instead of the dozer. He said a little later he saw Melvin go over and a little later you were using the tractor. Small world. He was a sponsored motocross rider in his younger years and owned "Zoo City Motor Sports Park" in Asheboro.
I am going to ride in the Fall Ride again. This is basically the same group I am going to Twin Hollows with plus Steve Harris from Florida. If you are on FB you will know most of these names.
