Not sure on that Tom. I think the new Polaris XP might have it but not positive.

I actually looked up the XP 900 and it says Electonic Power Steering - Not Equipped . I'm guessing that means they plan on offering it in the future on the XP.

There are Rzr's with Power steering. The Rzr S and Rzr4 offers it on select models. The Arctic Cat looks nice...

Power steering -- is this the first side by side to have power strreing? I should mention that the spy photos of the new 4 seat Rhino was showing it having power steering and that was back at least 3 years ago. Of course it's a moot point since it still isn't in production.

Looks like there are actually prototypes on this machine now.....either that or it has hit production. I suspect they are prototypes though.

I don't know about y'all but there doesn't look like much to that frame to me. Looks like it would be great in the dunes, but looks like it could get torqued and tweeked pretty easily in the rocks to me. Looks fast and light though.....perfect dune machine. Will be interesting seeing them hit the market to see how they do on the East Coast.

I'm sure the frame is sturdy. Arctic cat is like Polaris -- they only build heavy frames. My concern would actually be the rear diffs. Arctic Cat has had a tough time with the 1000cc ATV. Motor and tranny are great but the final drive link is a disaster. They used a torque spike damper in the ATV's to save the rear end but it caused lots of issues with slippage and just failing to get the power to the ground.
Can-am does something similar on the 1000cc Commander but uses electronics. Can-am does not allow the motor to give full throttle on the 1000cc Commander when taking off from a dead stop. This saves the axles and drivetrain. Hurts the power feeling that one would expect though...

I remember when the Thunder Cat came out they marketed the "smooth acceleration" but others complained that it was basically governed to keep from having a heavy throttle response from either a safety standpoint or limiting warranty claims of broken drivelines. By the way, I watched the rest of the video later. Really looks to soak up the bumps nicely. Nice suspension travel.

The 17" of suspension travel is amazing. That thing could be an incredible rock crawler. I hope Arctic Cat does not put overly stiff springs. They do on the ATV's and that makes them ride rough and just stay stiff.

It strangly reminds me of an RC Car a buddy of mine had.
He would drop it from waist high to the ground and it would just "swhooch" land... no bounce, or spring back... just cushioned landing....so smoooth. and this SXS looks like it does the same thing.. very cool

Here's a pretty good write up on it: atvconnection.com/Features/Buyers_Guide/Arctic_Cat/Arctic-Cat-Wildcat-1000-A-Reality-for-2012-vehiclereview.cfmLooks like I am apparently wrong about the frame: (could just be regurgitating mfgr marketing since they are a magazine) The Chassis The foundation for the Wildcat's suspension is a full-perimeter frame that sets a new standard in strength, rigidity and durability. Usually found only in off-road race trucks, the chassis is constructed from High Strength Low Alloy (HSLA) steel with a full-perimeter exoskeleton design that’s a first in the ROV class. With a 40/60 front/rear weight distribution, the Wildcat's front end remains light for optimal handling when tackling gnarly terrain. Occupants in the cockpit of the Wildcat are positioned close to the low center-of-gravity (CG), leaving them less affected by movements of the suspension and chassis and producing a more comfortable and confident ride.

This thing is starting to grow on me. I'm still a little skeptical on the frame as it appears to be a venture outside of the box with the "exoskeleton" and high strength low alloy steel. I think I want to wait a little while to see others guinea pig it first to see how it holds up.
I have to say though, I don't really want to wait much longer. Personally I don't love the looks of it physically but I love the looks of it soaking up the bumps - that looks incredible to me! Function over form for me. Curious to the price point, I'm not going to pay a mint for one....might be waiting for the used market.

I bet the frame is extreamly strong... built like a cockpit of a race car without the sheet metal is what it reminds me of...
I want to ride in it when you get it... :

I thought I saw $13999 for the price. I could be wrong... That doesn't sound too bad compared to where the high end Outlanders are in the ATV world and certainly less than the Polaris RZR XP which are around 15g's as I understand. I did hear from a pair fellow TTB'er that got ride in an XP this weekend that it was sick. Scary fast. They said they had permagrin and could not wipe it off of their face. Didn't realize I wasn't going to be hunting last weekend or I would have gone riding....would have gotten to experience that....probably just as well, it would have left a hole in my wallet and riding in it.....just like after the first time I rode in a Rhino. Ah heck, you can't take it with you! ;D
