 Gun/ Bow Racks for Ranger

Well as some of you know I recently traded my Honda Rincon for a Polaris Ranger. I had the gun racks on the front of my Rincon and wanted to find a way to attach them to the ranger. I know some people like to just put there gun case in the bed and go that way. I didn't want to do that in case I had the bed full of deer stands, deer or what ever. Also when we goose hunt the dog will ride in the bed and my shotgun stays in a soft case so this will be handy.

Originally, I had an idea in mind but after looking it over I decided it wouldn't work and even if it did you wouldnt be able to dump the bed. So, I came up with this idea and welded it up. Last night I drilled the holes and installed it to the Ranger. I had some foam at the house with 3M sticky tape already on one side so I used it anywhere it made contact with the Rollcage and on the inside of the U bots. Hopefully this will help vibration and noise.

I made the flat metal 26" in length and 4" in width with a slight crease at the top and bottom to add strength. The bars come off the flat metal 6" and the T at the end of it is 8" in length. I decided to make the T a little longer so the racks could be adjusted apart if ever need be.

Here are a couple of pictures of the racks. What you think. The bed is still fully functional to dump and the rack are low enough that the bows and guns are protected by the rollcage.

Only thing left to do is cutoff the U bolts when I get home tonight. Then its ready for My Hunting trip to Ohio on Saturday.

Everything was build out of Stainless but painted it to match the rollcage.

Great setup, looks like it will work very nicely for what you are wanting to do.

That's a good looking set up. I like it!

I bought a padded bag (DU brand from Polaris in Clemmons) that velcro's onto the cage for my brother's Ranger. It works really well also. You probably even have room for both if you wanted to add one.

You hunting with some guys from Statesville in Ohio? I think I just put 2 and 2 together.

Hey Matt, I don't go with anyone from Statesville. My wife is from Ohio so I go up with a buddy from China Grove and hunt private land.

You know some guys in Statesville that go each year?? I just got back. I shot a 9 pointer that weighed 193 lbs this year.

Hey congrats on an awesome bow kill Jason. Heck that is an awesome kill for any weapon. Yeah, I've got some friends from Statesville that have a lease in Southern Ohio and one of the guys that goes is named Jason.....I have never met him and they were there last week too.

I'd say given the weather last week, you did extremely well!

If your taxidermist is in China Grove it might not be in a few months. My taxidermist is in China Grove and he still has my 10 pointer from last November.....lol. ;D

138-5/8 P&Y. Awesome! Congrats again!

Matt who do you use. I took it to S&S grahams and talked with Sii. She said it would take close to 9 months to get it back. She sends the hides to Carolina Tanery and said it takes several months before she gets them back.

I use one of the staff taxidermists at McKenzie (company that makes the forms). He is a little on the slow side, pretty pricey, but does do beautiful work.
