a group of 5 of us rode the entire Paiute 01 in 18 hours. Over 300 miles in a day. It was a rough trail but very memorable. I will post pics and details when I get home.

this will be called the TTB Elite 300 group.

We are all in the airport now waiting to get on the planes. Phenomenal trip. We got some great videos that we will edit and distribute. Definitely different than WV, some trails were like Uwharrie, some like WV and some wide open.

A great trip. You could tell the elevation by the breathing effort needed. We saw gold mines and bottomless uranium mines, elk, mule deer, whitetail deer, golden aspens, rosy maples and sage and rocks ,rocks, rocks. All the marked trails were easy. We found some unmarked that were dangerous which we did not complete. The food was excellent but the motel got a six fly rating. Poor service and broken fixtures. We had very few tire problems. Trail Trackers did an excellent job. Henry and his son are good riders .They are now complementary club members.

As has been said, this truly was the "Trip of a Lifetime"
Kudos to Ken and Lonnie for making this happen.
The trails were great, the mountains and hills where rich with the color of fall. A great time was had by all.
The memories and fellowship of this trip will be an experience that we all will remember the rest of our lives.

Sounds like y'all had a great trip. Did you guys have a guide for any of the trips or were the trails marked and mapped well enough to make that a non-essential expense?

No guides other than Ken,Bob, Carver or whoever was leading. Used GPS and maps. The trails are mostly/kinda marked. I was amazed how the signs would sometimes disappear for many miles.

All I can say is man what a trip. Everything worked out great with very little problems and the one we had were easily solved. The only major issue was on Wiley Jr. last day he busted his final drive casing on a rock but with some W.V. technology we made a repair that would get him back. I'm looking forward to the next trip.

I ended up with 1200 pics but limited the # I placed on Photobucket since Mr Titzer told me I should cull some....

Great Trip. I'll do the 01 loop again in 3 to 5 years! ;)

Just doing the 01 again won't be good enough now that you've conquered it......you'll need to do "2 laps" to up the anti! ;D

The next time I will sleep out on the 01 trail one night and resort near the loop. The loop itself was not bad but the 25 or so miles to get there and back was a pain. Riding Paiute 01 was a really great ride -- I'd love to do it again but take at least 2 days.

That will be my "Utah 2011" ride. 8-)

Maybe Moab next time? Elizabeth and I have been talking about doing a cross country with the truck and hauler for a trip like that for years. Do a two week to allow for the to and fro and see some sights on the way.

As for the "tight fit" on the Rzr.....that one was actually a "no fit, go around" LOL!

Actually the place Jay, DarrylM, and myself rented was not bad for $99 a night. I'd rather sleep there than in a KOA Cabin.

I was very satisfied with the trip --

The food was excellent,
The scenery and trails were amazing,
The Rental Honda and Rzr were great, and
The fellowship was super.

Nineteen people and I do not remember any personality issues.

What more could you ask??? (Don't say Free Hookers!)

Thank you Ken for a great job is setting up the trip to Utah.... Great Job : )

I want to write a few lines about Michael B and my road trip to Utah. We left Thursday evening around 9:00 PM and drove straight through to Denver. At Denver we stayed the night at a Holiday Inn. We arrived at Big Rock Candy Mountain around 5:00 PM Saturday. The actual drive time is around 35 hours with breaks. If we would not have stoppped in Denver we would have at Big Rock around 5:00 AM Saturday.

The stop in Denver was the right choice because of the wonderful view you get driving through the Rocky mountains during the daylight.

Once we arrived at Utah Michael B and I set up camp and got ready for the ride on Sunday.

On Sunday my Sportsman 500 did not run right. Coop suggested I check my airbox since I had rolled the Polaris a few weeks ago. Sure enough my airbox was half full of oil because the oil reservior has a breather line to the airbox and the oil will drain into it when turned over. Once the oil was drained from the airbox and changed the airfilter I explored for about 65 miles

On Monday I had carb trouble because the gas line rubbed against a vacuum line on the carb. To fix, I cleaned the carb and sodered the vacuum line. Also did a modification to the air box so the engine would breath better. I drove for about 105 miles that day.

On Tuesday the Sportsman was very hard to start since the vacuum line was sealed up. The group was very kind to wait until the Polaris would start. I rode around 90 miles that day.

Wednesday was the 300 miles ride with Randy, Michael B, Daryl, Jay and I. This group ride was an excellent one. Only a flat tire for a break down. We rode through desert plains, mountain tops, dense forest, rolling hills, and rocky trails. The rocky trails were the worst I have ever bin on since they seemed to go on forever. We did the Souther part of the trail first and Norther half last. The last part of trail 01 was up a mountain trail that seems not to end. I'm thinking it was an up hill climb for around 5 - 10 minutes (crazy). My Polaris 500 ran great and handled the different trails well.

On Thursday, I sat at the camp and just visted with other ATV'ers

Friday, Michael and I packed up camp and started down the road to Denver. Friday night we stayed at a Walmart parking lot in Denver. Saturday we stopped at Kansas City to walk through the Cabela's store.

We drove another 230 miles that night and got a room at a hotel. Sunday, I was home by 5:00 PM

Michael used his Toyota Tundra to pull my camper on this trip. Toyota trucks are amazing vehicles. We averaged around 11 miles/galloon for the trip. Michael put his ATV on his truck and my atv on the camper.

MIchael and I split the cost of the trip. The list below is what is cost each one of us.

Gas for truck $670
Gas for ATV $100
groceries for camping $70
camping $60

So the total trip cost about $1000 with Misc stuff included.

The trip was excellent and enjoyed ever bit of it. It was the best group of people to be with for a week. Thank you all Carver

Carver had ATV issues Sunday and Monday but his ATV ran great on Wednesday. The fact that any ATV can withstand that 300 mile ride is incredible!

Carver may have the only ATV that came home in better shape than when it left home!! :)
